The Tamworth Honeypot is the oldest family run/owned health food shop in
Australia! (to our knowledge)

Our shop has been a well-established business for over 40 years! Established
in 1979, we have been a 3-generation run family business since 1984. John
smith, a beekeeper from Texas, and his wife Marilyn Cloake from New Zealand
married after John went to work as beekeeper on Marilyn’s family farm. John
and Marilyn both come from generations of beekeepers. They moved to
Tamworth Australia where they took over the Honeypot. Marilyn’s love for
health food and herbal medicine combined with John’s bee keeping enabled
them to grow the business with their young family.

40 years and 3 generations later, the business is still going strong and
servicing our local and broader community.

Running a small family-owned business in a rural town is not always easy. It’s
a true testament to the strength and character of Marilyn and John that the
business is still successful and thriving.

Over the last 40 years the honeypot has employed over 50 Tamworth locals,
some who have remained for 10 to 20 years as loyal team members. It’s a
labour of love for us all, really.

The honeypot family is grateful for this wonderful business, and we are
grateful to our local and broader community for their wonderful support over
the past 40 years. We have been (and still are) privileged to help our
customers walk through their health journeys. It has been humbling to ride
the waves with our customers, at times with our own personal health
journeys.

We are also true believers in shopping local and Australian where possible
and we are proud to stock local and Australian products where we can.
